Post Malone, the Dallas native who provided the soundtrack to summer 2015 with his indie breakout “White Iverson” has teamed up with Atlanta’s 21 Savage and broke the internet.
According to The Verge, the song has broken Apple Music’s single-week streaming record with 25 million plays. DJ Khaled’s “I’m The One” previously held the record. The song, produced by Louis Bell and Tank, is the lead single off Post’s up next sophomore album Beerbongs and Bentleys, due out early winter.
Apple Music has a long history of supporting Post ever since he blew up with his breakout single “White Iverson.” “We just have a long history of supporting Post Malone, even before he got signed,” Carl Chery, Apple Music’s head of curation, tells The Verge. “‘White Iverson’ was being heavily supported in iTunes—that song is old enough that Apple Music wasn’t even live yet. We were supporting him heavily back then, and we did the same thing with the Stoney project last year. The process is pretty simple for us, if we like it, we support it.”
We curate the same way here at Wanderset. If we fuck with the aesthetic (be it visual or audio) we put you on. Sometimes we let our imagination run wild because art is art- in the same way music is immersive and emotionally expansive art, fashion is wearable art, and we strive to unite all mediums here.
Drew McCarver, Wanderset’s Art Director and I, (who also happens to be my closest bro from way before this era), put each other on to new shit all day when we’re together. Music, documentaries, fashion, sports trivia, childish crude humor etc.- it’s all fair game. We like to see it as “expansive”. He played “Rock Star” for me as we looked at flights to LA for next week and I just kind of stopped him. The pallet of the song drew me in. He goes “Yeah bro, you haven’t heard this yet?”. He DJ Clued me in. He Clinton Spark-ed me with the “Get Familiar”.
I was never a fan of Post Malone, but I never wasn’t a fan, so to speak. I just didn’t really listen enough to form an opinion. I’ve been on a movie soundtrack and Charlie Parker kick lately.
Drew connected me to the loop. I was glad he did.
It’s immersive the way that the “Drive” movie score is. That sinister Hollywood underbelly snarl is contradicted by a beautifully ominous gloss that defines it’s topic and crafts a motif that feels like 4 am in the Hollywood Hills. Coke all over the tables, bras all over the floor, and flickering neon all over Lindsay Lohan in The Canyons.
We both kind of came up with the idea to curate an outfit or look book based off the track. Without further adu, here it is.
We’re not convinced Post Malone isn’t performative art by Shia LaBeouf, but…
DEL TORO BLACK VELVET SKULL + BONES SLIPPER
You don’t have to be in the Illuminati to rock these. These feel like Season 2 of “True Detective” – those seedy ass elite parties, where drugs, hookers, gangsters, rich kids and politicians all melted into each other at 4 am.

POSSESSED BOW3RY DAD HAT
No explanation needed. This hat is the excuse for Post x 21’s poor behavior when the sun goes down, pertaining to poppin pillies and slaying with their wee wees out and such.
