Wanderset’s COMPLEXCON Invasion 17 Recap

The Insanity that was COMPLEXCON 17 has been recapped. It’s around mid-afternoon in West Hollywood right now, and it’s finally quiet. It’s finally much, much calmer. Off the balcony, I can hear the low panned din below of the Sunset strip, dipping into the weight of it’s own peaks and valleys, in underwater Dolby surround sound. The last weekend just kicked the shit out of (Wanderset Art Director) Drew McCarver and I. But the internet never sleeps. Some cat flew back to Seoul and already uploaded some trill ass images of his cops from ComplexCon 17, and now, we have to run thru miles of content, flicks, clips, and all types of names and numbers to piece together this hot mess neon maze that was more Wonka Factory than shopping experience. We copped a bunch of exclusives only avaiable at the event, and now, only available on Wanderset. Thru out…

SMOKEPURPP Is Wanderset A F.

Meet one of the hottest emerging stars in the country. Surrounded by semi-automatics, pills, cohorts with neon colored dreads, lean in his fanta, Audis, and millions of plays and hits on his records that radio would never in a million years spin. He doesn’t give a fuck. This is SmokePurpp. The 19-year-old Miami rapper started gaining serious traction in the summer of 2016, when he dropped two videos, “WOKHARDT” and “Ski Mask,” within a month of each other. Booming production and a garbled delivery, half mumble rap and half aggro bark, lo-fi indie mixing contrasted by a love of upmarket urban luxe fashion gave way to increased attention. The recent emergence of that South Florida Soundcloud trap scene hasn’t hurt either. SpaceGhostPurpp, Denzel Curry, Kodak Black, Pouya and XXXTENTACION are all links in the same chain that was first forged by Trick Daddy, elongated by Rick Ross, and polished to…

Dj Five Is The Real Vegas Golden Knight. With Turntables & Rad T Shirts.

When DJ Five isn’t spinning some of the biggest celeb driven venues in Las Vegas, you can find him at the gym early in the morning or hanging out with his nephew and his parents. “This is the real Vegas- that whole Sin City shit is for tourist”. Is it a city where you can find a party at any time of day, but life can also be pretty chill and consistent. And a market on the rise in ways Bugsy Seigle couldn’t image. There is a growing indie music scene, backpack rap and skate board community, and avant garde mod art. There are cool things happening now that don’t involve cliches like the Joe Peschi in a little tux, the Bunny Ranch, circus themed dinner theater, Kris Angle, or blowing the 401 K at a penny slot. DJ  Five, hailing originally from LA, has been dj-ing since 15, and…

The Long Coat : Fall 2017’s Must Have Outerwear

There are a few seasonal signature items that are definitive autumn 2017 men’s wear looks. The Chelsea Boot, the Cuffed x Fitted Denim, and for sure, the Long Coat. The Long Coat, synonymous with anti-heros, film noir detectives, and european James Bond supporting characters, has been revived. We selected 5 of the dopest out now. 5. IISE Long Coat Made by South Korean street-luxe kings IISE, this jacket is really epic. It’s versatile in the sense that one can look like a sci-fi film resistance fighter, Paris Fashion Week model, or a far east streetwear king on a Stussy deck. There are no lines anymore. 4. MR. COMPLETELY LONG PARKA Utter fire from the brand that keeps giving us utter fire. Extra points for the high ninja collar. It’s less of a winter ski jacket and more of an all purpose “I’m the fucking man” jacket. 3. ADIDAS…

Green Street Hooligans : Lad Fashion Is The UK Wave.

Like many of the urban UK subcultures before it, the concept of ‘Nu Lad’ is easy to deduce visually,  but tough to explain. While it might sound like a ‘nothing’ fad – almost a given that is as brit boy culture as hooligan firms, supporter pubs, whiskey and Guinness and a Garage & Grime music, Oasis, and stadium chants and songs. “Lad Culture” rose to prominence in the 80’s and 90’s, took a down shifted turn in the slightly more prep and polished 2000’s, but given fashion’s cyclical nature, it’s back gloriously. If you’re from the States, you may wonder what the bloody hell “Lad” fashion, or culture, even is. This video featuring some iconic scenes from the cult classic “Green Street Hooligans” should sum it up. The fashion and the vernacular, lifestyle, and experience is all important, as it paints a picture fully. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAFrA7aCT3g In the states we call…

Heart X Sole : The Sneaker Steve Story

Sneaker Steve Patino is a very influential man in footwear. You may not know his name because it’s not on the actual sneaker like a certain basketball great, but you damn sure have seen his work, wore his vision, or proudly rocked an effort of his. He’s made some massive moves that have changed the way we view fashion in general, quarterbacked collaborative efforts between skaters, rappers, luxe designers and rock stars, and it really all began with a lot of passion, and a little bit of square footage in Elmhurst Queens, NY. Picture the late 80’s/early 90’s in the city that never sleeps. Rows and rows of squalid brick housing, Chopped Cheese selling Bodegas, (if you don’t know what Chopped Cheese is, find a noose pal.) boxy BMW’s weaving lanes blasting A Tribe Called Quest and Wu-Tang, and Gangstarr. This was back in the era when all 8…

Upcoming Wood Wood X Adidas Limited Colab Leaked.

We love it when two amazing brands come together on a vision. We love it even more when they are both Wanderset brands. Wood Wood, the Copenhagen based street-lux brand has joined forces with long time friend and collaboration partner Adidas for a roll out that’s releasing first at Wood Wood’s 15th Anniversary bash on Aug. 10, in Copenhagen. and then, if any product is left it will go to their physical stores in Aarhus and Berlin, and online. The much anticipated colab is based on soccer hooligan culture, and features the words “Mayhem” and “Madness” on scarves , jerseys and sneakers. Fans of both streetwear and soccer culture have been searching for pics since the rumors of the colab started. Well, here’s just some of the looks that have leaked, and they’re awesome. We love when two of our brands absolutely crush it.

#Setlist Campus Chill : 5 Must Have Sweatshirts

There are more or less two streams of college attire. Your traditional “Ivy League” stereotype is what comes to mind for some, with images of young men at Yale and Harvard, in khaki pants and deep shades of rich navy and maroon tops, button downs from Gant, and heavily stitched varsity letters. Then there’s what you actually see in dorms and halls all across the country. The Ivy’s love their idealistic postcard portrayal, but real life is alot more functional, youth driven, trend aware and chill. Hoodies will never go out of style on campus. Especially ones with the college’s name on the front in bold white varsity letters. But this season, the cult of the cool long sleeve sweatshirt is in full effect. We selected 5 “Must Have Sweatshirts” for campus life in this edition of #SetList that are exactly what you need to look like you not only know…
