Celebrity Look Book & Style Guide : October Edition

We always look to the influencers. They wouldn’t even have that title if they’re juju didn’t somehow rub off. We are subconsciously influenced by them and their style “guides” more often than not, barring those who exclusively shop shop at WalMart. Even then, you may be influenced by Will Farrell in Talladega Nights. We at Wanderset knew that, and we aimed a bit higher. We created “Set Members” so the real influencer could be one on one with you, without their celebrity mannequins. We netted cats like Ariel G., Sneaker Steve, Andrew Weitz, and more. These guys are the reason you even see style trends emerge, or your favorite celebrity mannequins rocking what they do. We believe in the power of the man behind the curtain. For this article, we’re going back on that. We’re gunna be your plug to the middle man, the celebrity. Why? Cuz TMZ snatched the…

DEAD STUDIOS : The Renegades Down Under

Australia has given the State’s alot of cool shit. Sometimes we as the American populus forget Australia, or tend to at least misrepresent it. Paul Hogan may not even be in the Top 10 of the outback nation’s culturatti exports, and, realistically, and he’s the Aussie who pops in to most of our minds as the brand character for the nation. Mel Gibson in the 80’s easily makes the “Roo Export To The Yanks” highlight reel. RIP Steve Erwin. RIP Heath Ledger. They get the nod. Ledger should get a statue in the real Gotham City, if that was a thing. Sia, Kylie Minouge, Natasha Beddingfield, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, they all make the roster. The Hemsworth’s and Cate Blanchett have to be on the list. Baz Luhrmann makes it. The 10 minute scene on the beach of “Romeo + Juliet” alone should see him enshrined. Rugby is awesome.…

Wanderset’s Get The Look : AXL ROSE Edition

Before there was Conor McGregor, Kanye, Diddy, Marilyn Manson and fuck it, even Justin Bieber – the 2013 wild as shit pissing in the mop bucket version- there was Axl. Axl Rose, lead singer and hotel trashing maniac frontman of Guns N Roses, was an icon. People hated him. People loved him. He loved himself and hated people. He fronted one of the best bands of all time, penning hits like “Welcome To The Jungle” that still pump dudes up to sucker punch a cop in the face at hockey games all over the world. He had his own distinct voice, style, and signature way to wreck stages and lives on a 10 year steam roll thru pop culture. Now, as today’s pop and hiphop stars are seen frequently rocking his band (as well as other 80’s metal bands) apparel, we honor the GOAT. For without him, there is no…

Marilyn Manson X Lil Uzi Vert Are Dropping A Song & We Styled The Video.

The internet has been made aware. It’s officially a new era. Growing up in the 90’s – I remember Marilyn Manson was the anti everything. He was anti pop. Anti hiphop. Anti God. Anti Hero. Anti You and Anti Me. He was the most controversial goth metal figure of the era, even taking his stage name from two iconic dual spectrum pop culture icons. One was the biggest sex symbol of all time, the other a brutal satanic serial killer. He roasted Bill O’reilly on his own show after he was blamed for causing the mass school shooting at Colombine in 99. Now, it’s 20 years removed from his wild heyday. And he’s still breaking necks with his wild card moves. This time however, it’s because his most recent single, a record entitled “WE KNOW WHERE YOU FUCKING LIVE.”- is set to feature the flavor of the moment trap rapper…

#SetList : The World In Black X White

Monochromatic is timeless. It’s sleek, classic, and always goes down well. Black and white finds a way to be both minimalist and sleek, brooding and elegant, striking and withdrawn. Not to mention streetwear has been trending towards clean, minimal noir e blanco since 2015 anyway. Here are 5 pieces we love in this vein from lines like Bomb Clothing, En|Noir and more. 5. BOMB BCC TECH JACKET If Trent Reznor worked as a Tokyo police explosives specialist in the future, he would rock the hell out of this fire from BOMB Clothing. 4. COMME des GARCONs “PLAY” 000000xFFFFFF HEARTS Minimalistic pop art at it’s finest. Haring and Warhol would be overjoyed with this Comme Des Garcons piece. 3. DISORDER BY LE FIX The mock turtle neck late 90’s look is back heavily this fall, and European street wear kings Le Fix crushed it. 2. JAGGER BUTTON…

Trap Goth Is A Thing Now. Here’s The Look.

There’s an old sociology theory that state’s “Subcultures create subcultures.” It goes on to say that progressive movements have, by nature, many more tributaries than their mainstream counterparts, and therefore the progressive progress faster. Nothing exemplifies this more than Goth. If you ask a “Goth” what it means to be Goth, you’ll get a wide array of answers. It’s a lifestyle, a fashion sense, a mental state, all of the above, or something far more specific. The answers run the gamut. And Goth, maybe even more so than other subcultures, has a great many subcultures and sets within itself. There’s the classic Victorian Goth, which is best embodied by the wardrobe in most Tim Burton films. In the 90’s Goth was synonymous with anti-culture heroes like Marilyn Manson, Trent Reznor, and, to a lesser extent any band that opened for Manson, Nine Inch Nails, or was nu-metal industrial. More recently,…
