#WanderSetting NYC : The Current Big Apple Look Book

As the fashion world looks to Paris in the upcoming week, we at Wanderset look to a metro that is equally as famous, but quite opposite just the same. If Paris is polish and panache, Manhattan is grit and grind. Don’t get me wrong, there is an overabundance of tres Michelin star white table cloth dining, skyscrapers that would make the Tower Of Babel feel like a cuck, and luxe fashion worn while being chauffeured in luxe cars. Maybe we’re just more brash about it here. As a product of the north east metro area, I  wouldn’t have it any other way. After all, The City is the gateway to The New World. And we all know it. It’s not that either Paris or NYC are right or wrong, in a cultural sense, it’s that NYC is just younger. It’s energy is different. There’s more pulsing and pushing, and like any little…

Custom Supreme. Rare Yeezys, & Rabid Hypebeasts. This Was SneakerCon NYC.

The New York edition of the traveling sneaker convention SneakerCon is the show’s flagship. With upwards of 20,000 people expected to pass through the event’s entry lines, it’s now a cultural staple. It’s come a long way from its 2009 launch in a 2,000 square foot Times Square space that only hosted 600 attendees. Now, the convention boasts 13 shows a year in cities like Atlanta, Chicago and Fort Lauderdale domestically. This year’s NYC flagship event was expected to be even bigger than it’s 20,000 turn-out anticipation. It appeared as such. I attended this years event with Set Art Director and partner in childish horse shit/my Irish brother Drew McCarver, screenwriter and Wanderset guest latin culture contributor Jonathan “JayLee” Jordan, Armand “the Funeral Director” DeLuca and my old homie Mikey Nicholson, devout Liverpool fan, true hiphop head, man of the people, and the proud belt holder of “Street wear OG…

Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous, Or Broke & Dangerous. CROOKS & CASTLES Is Back.

Crooks and Castles was started in the mean streets of Los Angeles in the early 2000’s. 2002 to be exact, and that makes them somewhat of an OG heritage narrative as far as the Methylphenidate fueled conveyor belt of street wear is concerned. All hail the return of the great man in the castle, we say. Napoleon has returned from his castoff island. The once championed street kings, who were the toast of Mac Miller, Diddy, Ceelo, Drake, and assorted sponsored skateboarders everywhere have reemerged with the new year’s vigor. You should have kept their seat at the cool kids lunch table warm, O ye of little faith. C&C was one of the first streetwear lines to consciously embrace a narrative and soul, a story in every capsule, and create from a place that was equal parts street and polish. In fact, founders Dennis Calvero and Rob Panlilio issued this statement on…

Welcome To NORWOOD CHAPTERS: The Exclusive Ali Saint Q Interview.

Ali Saint Q is en route to becoming the guy Dos XX should cast as the next “Most Interesting Man In The World”. His line, Norwood Chapters, is the insiders hottest ticket. The way every rappers favorite rapper is secretly Royce Da 5’9, is the way Norwood is positioned for those in the streetwear bubble. Norwood first got noticed for using the Ikea bag in the most sartorial ways possible. Then, other big dogs jacked the concept. But the cool thing about the internet is that it comes with time stamps on posts. Anyone can say what they want, my man Ali did it first. First matters. Ali and I spoke on the phone for damn near an hour the first time we talked. It wasn’t an interview, it was a barbershop culture talk. I grew up in the north east, and he in So Cal, but we spoke an…

God Save REPRESENT. The George Heaton Interview.

George and his brother Michael Heaton, from Manchester, UK – are flying the Union Jack much higher than most lately. Their brand, REPRESENT, is coming to Wanderset, and the line has gone from street wear t shirts, to full fledged fashion house that uses Brit iconography to craft a brilliant narrative that is just as much trap-punk as it is Victorian. I spoke with George to dive a bit deeper into the story behind Represent. I wanted to find out what made him tick, and where the inspiration and creativity sparked from. As a creative, inspiration is never ending and can stem from anywhere, and that to be, is the most interesting part. As far as culture goes, I childishly wanted to know what the coolest shit from across the pond that we may not even know about here in Trump’s Wonka Factory. Before the Brit’s get a hearty…

It’s both Vatican and Valerian. It’s hip and temporary and established and stuffy. There’s a sea of indie as fuck drug addled street culture and also a brunch hosted by JP Morgan. The Future Of Commerce Is Narrative : Welcome To Wanderset

Since the beginning of time, humanity has progressed on the back of storytelling. Although craft and culture have morphed as humanity has, storytelling, as a concept, has not – we just find new ways to tell the story. We have lately been telling stories through technology – social platforms, content sites and now through e-commerce. Whether or not you happen to be in the digital or fashion space professionally, we are all at least peripherally aware that the traditional brick and mortar marketplace is in decline, while e-commerce continues to grow at an extravagant clip. “Despite the over $1 trillion in apparel sales transacted annually online and through mobile. Apparel e-commerce is still projected to grow globally by 40% over the next 3 years.” Fashion Industry Statistics, www.fashionunited.com, accessed on 11/13/16. What sort of new e-commerce sites will emerge to fill this space, to provide consumers with more than just…

Discover 10 Must Have Pieces From Highly Secretive & Brilliant line Kollar.

KOLLAR CLOTHING ( *CALLˈER )  IS AN ART FORM RATHER THAN A PIECE OF CLOTH THAT IS WORN” So reads the first paragraph from Canadian/Slovakian clothing line Kollar. Kollar prides itself on being less streetwear, less luxury, and more sartorial modern art. Before the line was launched, countless hours were spent perfecting fit, detail, construction, and framing of each piece, be it footwear of denim, t shirt to accessory. Kollar is unapologetically funky and avant garde, while never “overdoing it”- keeping in mind that innovation is sometimes refined and simplistic. Kollar is also rather popular for being niche and hard to find, only distributing garments to handpicked boutiques that share character and lifestyle, and do not believe in overexposure or hype. Here are 10 essentials from this new hard to find, and harder to predict line from The 6/Eastern Europe. 10. KOLLAR CHELSEA BOOT  The boot has a tall height and flat toe…
